Waterfront orientation
If your berth makes it practical, start with the Little Mermaid and the harbourfront. From Oceankaj, first reach the city by your chosen connection; you may prefer to begin around Kongens Nytorv instead.
Amalienborg and Nyhavn
These two areas provide a clear progression through royal Copenhagen and the colourful harbour. Nyhavn is a useful decision point: continue only when the return still looks comfortable.
A short central extension
Strøget or the surrounding streets can add shops and cafés. City Hall Square is a farther endpoint; use it only when the remaining time supports the trip back.
Keep a shorter version ready
Weather, queues, and transport can change. The simplest shorter version ends at Nyhavn. A still shorter version focuses on the waterfront and Amalienborg. Decide early rather than trying to recover time at the end.
